About The Choreographers
about us
Megha and Ami crossed paths at UMKC’s college orientation in the summer of 1995. They became good friends immediately and soon discovered each other’s passion for dance. They choreographed and performed in college together and remained friends through the remaining years. After they each had their first child in 2004, they decided they wanted to get involved with Kansas City’s youth and teach Bollywood dance together. And as they say…..the rest is history!
Megha Chandramohan
A native of Texas, Megha has had a passion for dance from a tender young age. She studied Kathak classical dance with a very reputable teacher in the Houston area, which opened up multiple platforms for her to perform on. Besides participating in many cultural shows in the Houston area performing raas, garba, and folk dance, she also competed and won in several FOGANA regional and national competitions. During her college and medical school years, Megha held an officer position within the UMKC Indian organization (INDUS) where she choreographed numerous dances and chaired several cultural shows. Despite the rigorous hours and demands of medical school, Megha always found a way to keep dancing. Choosing pediatrics as her profession, she truly enjoys working with children. Seva Dance has provided Megha an avenue to combine her vast dance experience with a twist of modern Bollywood. She takes much pride in this contemporary form of choreography and the challenges that come along with it.
